The Nic & Nan Radio Show

Nic Allen

Nic Allen began his radio career by accident while attending Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL.  He was approached at a campus party by the GM
of WLNX, the campus radio station.  While
having a conversation about various subjects, she asked him if he every thought
about getting into radio, because he had a “radio voice” for it.  He said “No, I hadn’t even considered
it”.

From there, the seed was planted,
the radio bug bit him, and a media monster was created.  His first full-time job was a news reporter
for WXCL-AM in Peoria,
while attending Bradley
University.  His fact-finding skills and hard-hitting
reporting earned him an Associated Press award. Seeing that disc jockeys were having more fun on the radio, playing
music and acting like a fool, Nic decided to make the transition from news to
playing the hits at WKQA-FM, also in Peoria.
Nic’s 30 year career included stops in Chicago, Los Angeles,
Mississippi, Alaska, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Alabama, where he was the #1
Morning Drive personality, carrying a .22 share in persons 18-49.  It was during his recent stint in Bama
Country that “The Nic & Nan Morning Showgram”, with his loving wife, Ms.
Nan was created.  Doing a morning show
for WKXN/WKXK-FM, this was an urban formatted station, in the birthplace of the
Civil Rights Movement, as an interracial married couple, was the greatest
experience of his career.
Working with Ms. Nan on TalkZone creates the next chapter
of quality, compelling, and most of all, FUN talk radio.
